Don’t expect any help in here. I have written the support three times now, regarding issues with billing and I have not heard anything yet.

If you’re using Internet Explorer and still can’t see the “Free Gift” link, try this:
>> Click on the country flags on the top of the page;
>> Choose English as you prefered language.

IT DOES WORK.
After my previous post, I received help and the right suggestions to get the gift: at the moment, it works only loading my account web page in English language.
The amount of 0.20 Eur was successfully delivered to my account.

we had indeed a bug there that the promotion was not showing up if your web store language was anything else than English. this has now been fixed.

Only problem is that I called India and the call lasted 1 minute

Thank you ! Disregarding most of the comments, the link worked great at first time and my(old)account was instantly credited without any delay. I am patient updating regularly to the latest version and awaiting video skype and to have a skypein number in my country whenever it will become available. sheers

i did get my free credit but i go to the program and it dousent let me make skyout call it tell me i have no skypeout credit and then im my account i do have credit does anyone else got this problem.

This is great! I had no trouble claiming the free SkypeOut minutes. They were credited to my account almost immediately and email notification followed shortly thereafter.
Problem is that my dialer is not letting me make SkypeOut calls. I get this error message:
“Call failed. You need SkypeOut to call standard telephone numbers.”
If my account is showing the free credit that came with the offer what more do I need to do to use it?

Worse, after using the regular Skype service, I decided it was worth it to purchase 10 Euros worth of call time, thinking that might at least make it work. But it still doesn’t! So now I’m 10 Euros poorer and still have no SkypeOut service . Any suggestions?

Follow up to my earlier posting:
It looks like you just have to be patient before you can start using those SkypeOut free minutes. When I accessed my account online via the webpage it showed that I had SkypeOut credit there.
The Skype interface that sits on the desktop and that you use for dialing also tells you how much SkypeOut credit you have. My SkypeOut credits have only just appeared on my desktop dialer (some 6hrs later).
It’s too late for me to call the friends I want to test the SkypeOut with. I won’t be able to let you know until tomorrow whether it really works. Fingers crossed.
SkypeOUT is wicked, I haven’t tried it yet but its a great idea giving away 10 mins for free

Great marketing plan guys. Been using SkypeOut for a while and I am very happy with the results. I agree with a previous poster that you should have a quick link to send a notice to a friend and getter even better coverage.

I recieved my free gift from Skype a few hours ago…tried it out on my home number but got the message saying that I need Skypeout credits to make calls to landlines.
I then noticed that Skype has updated in the last few days so I downloaded and updated and it now works fine. Thanks Skype !!
