i (heart) developers

Hey boys and girls in code land … we have some new stuff to share to make your life with Skype a tad bit more interesting. Introducing the new Skype Developer Zone site. We have a host of new goodies to make life for developers better and more profitable … after all sharing is good.

So what’s new? First things first, Skype now has new API licensing terms which allows you to use the Skype API in commercial solutions. After you build your wonderful creation, list it in the Extras Showcase so that others can find it, or even better get it Skype Certified. 1.3 API documentation is live now too and in HTML for you to explore. Tell us what you think, we want to make our friends happy and successful too, this is just the beginning of a romance with developers at Skype.

This tool is not only good for collaboration.

It is also ideal to teach other people learning to use a program. Lot of young people can use this to make some money by teaching via the internet.

    Incredible potential. Thank you.

From the description above: “and Internet Explorer”
As long as the product is designed to support only one non-standardised browser, it is not overly interesting. What happened to compatibility with Opera and FireFox for instance.
