Come claim your Skype Points
We’ve had many people ask, “I like Skype and I promote it a lot – can I get something in return?” We launched our paid affiliate scheme just a few weeks ago, but some of you may not be up for cash, or the service may not be available in your country, or for whatever other reason, you might not find the paid affiliate scheme to be most appropriate for you.
This is where Skype Points come in.
]]>Skype points are the reward you get for promoting Skype. For the time being, the only way to get Skype points is to promote Skype with the affiliate banners, but we’re working on other ways you can get them too.

For the time being, the only “use” of Skype points is that you can see the ranking of who has how many on the Sharing Leader Board. Now this is nice, but not enough in the long run. So, we’re thinking of things like letting you “convert” your Skype Points into SkypeOut credit, merchandise, hardware… come have your say on what you want to do with your Skype Points in the Share Skype forum.

The thing I don’t understand is how do you know that the person downloading comes from my link… Nowhere on the ad there is my SkypeID or any other ID….
stuffmc – the code you copy/paste to your web page contains your ID info.
great idea but indeed believe it should be convertible to skype goodies. By the way it is also competing with you current affiliate programms run by commission junction.
In the meantime, could you also suggest just text links. i often blog about skype and instead of putting a simple http://www.skype.com link i would like to put you promo link so i can collect points.
Yes, text links on the banner page please. If you know your HTML you can get it from banner code but why not make it easier for people?
I did not know blogs.skype.com until I visited another website. Why don’t Skype people put a Share Skype introduction easily to be seen on http://www.Skype.com? There are just a few Sharing leader and their profile page have nothing to see.
